Transferring a Site to Vitality South

  1. Get the DNS records from previous provider.
  2. Log into existing clients hosting. Go to Domains, Manage DNS
  3. Bring the records over to Route 53.

Route 53

  1. Registrar the Domain Name which creates a Hosted Zone.
  2. Go to Hosted Zone and Create Record Set
  3. Bring all records over.

Making the Records Set

  1. Create an A record old IP
  2. Create an A with www. Already has URL. Just www and same IP
  3. Bring all existing records from previous hosting to Route 53. Recreate ALL records. Note: Ensure all records recreated.
  4. Create all MX records and all mail records. Note: 10, 20, 30
  5. Create Record for example: A ftp IP
  6. Create Record for example A mysql IP
  7. Create Record for example A ssh IP
  8. Ensure ALL existing records are recreated.

    Note: TXT Records may require using a separate line

MX Records – Old Mail

DNS Records: Check Domain Name for the following. If they exist must be included in DNS records.
